Services and Rates

Investing in massage is an investment in your health.

Relaxation Massage - (also called Swedish Massage) Warm oils are massaged into the skin using a variety of strokes to loosen restricted muscles while the client drifts off. A few of the many benefits include: relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, improved circulation, loosen painfully taut muscles.

30 minutes (a mini-massage) $65. This is not enough time for a full body massage, so the client decides which areas he/she would like the massage to focus on.

60 minutes: $110, 90 minutes: $155, & 120 minutes: $205 These massages allow time for a full body massage with special attention to the areas that need it.

Description of terms and massage modalities that I offer and that can be incorporated into your massage treatment depending upon your preferences and what your body needs in that moment.

Hot Stone Massage - Basalt stones are heated to a temperature of around 120-130 degrees.  These stones are placed along energy pathways to balance and relax the body.  I also use the warm stones to massage the client in full body massage.  The heat from the stones penetrates and relaxes the muscles faster than a relaxation massage.  Deeply calming, physically & mentally. The stones can also be used as a deep tissue tool to apply more pressure and heat to taut muscle tissue.

Deep Tissue Massage - Extremely deep pressure is used on one muscle or muscle group at a time to treat painful, restricted muscles.  This modality affects the sub-layer of musculature & fascia.

Pregnancy Massage - Massage can be safely given to expecting mothers at all stages of pregnancy, as long as the Massage Therapist has received the proper training (I am a Certified Prenatal Massage Therapist).  The pregnant body goes through many dramatic changes at a fast rate, and massage therapy greatly eases the resulting pains and discomforts.  Special bolsters are used to assure that there is no stress placed on the mother's belly during the massage.  Massage relaxes the mother, and as a result, has a calming effect on the fetus as well.

Integrative Massage Cupping Therapy This treatment incorporates Massage Cupping Therapy into your massage treatment.  The areas focused on with the Massage Cups depends upon the intention of the client.  The focus could be muscle release, cellulite reduction, relief of chest congestion, etc.  Massage Cupping involves placing a Massage Cup on the skin, removing some of the air from the cup through a valve at the top of the cup, and thus creating a suction effect on the skin and tissues.  This effect is also called Negative Pressure, and is used to soften tight muscles, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to the tissues, and drain excessive fluids and toxins by opening the lymphatic pathways.  The sensation is difficult to describe, but some describe it as a deep warm, tingling sensation, lasting long after the session has ended. Some of the benefits include: lymph drainage, loosen adhesions, release deep tissue issues, relieve inflammation, stimulate blood flow, sedate the nervous system, ease appearance of scar tissue (with a series of treatments), increase range of motion, open the chest by loosening the intercostal muscles (muscles between the ribs) and opening up the diaphragm .
Specific conditions benefiting from Massage Cupping Therapy include: fibromyalgia, bursitis, tendonitis, IBS, edema, sciatica, poor circulation, insomnia, anxiety, cellulite, chronic pain, TMJD, asthma, headaches, etc.  Some contraindications that need to be kept in mind include: sessions should be short and gentle if the client is on blood thinners or has diabetes.  Avoid cupping during pregnancy.
It is very important to avoid getting a chill or excessively hot for 6 hours after your cupping treatment!  This means avoiding steam, saunas, extreme exercises, or hot showers.  Clients with low blood pressures, at the end of their session, should sit up slowly, and not attempt to stand for a few minutes.  Always drink lots of water after a bodywork session, this is especially important after a cupping treatment.  Some potential reactions include: a "cup kiss": a temporary discoloration of the skin that may last a few hours or a few days; tenderness if deep work was done (usually this tenderness is still less than that felt after a Deep Tissue massage); redness or itching (due to vasodilation of blood brought to the surface of the skin); and lowered blood pressure (again, due to vasodilation).

Integrative Reflexology
-
Integrative Reflexology involves working the reflex points of the feet, hands, and ears.  The feet impart valuable information about the body's state of well-being.  Understanding the body's structural alignment from the feet up gives a clear indication of how energy flows to the various organs and glands.  The feet and hands have nervous system receptors that communicate with other parts of the body.  The feet have 7,200 nerve endings that are typically congested from wearing shoes all the time.  Reflexology stimulates these receptors and breaks up the congestion.  This then leads to optimized function of all the organs that have been reflexively worked.  The body has the ability to heal itself, but this ability is heightened once we become aware of it, and when we work towards this goal.  The client either remains clothed, or can wear a spa robe and blanket. For Reflexology, the client lies face up on the massage table while the reflex points of the feet, hands, and ears are worked and massaged. This can be provided as a stand alone treatment for 30 or 60 minutes, or it can be incorporated into a full body massage session.

Face Lifting and Drainage Massage Cupping Facial Therapy - This technique eliminates buildup of wastes and fluids in the face and neck. Benefits include: loosens adhesions, relaxes tight muscles, stimulates production of collagen and elastin, smooths fine lines and wrinkles, strengthens vascular integrity of the face.  This service takes about 15 minutes and can be added at the end of any full body massage.

Aromatherapy - 100% pure essential oils are added to the massage oil, which is massaged into the skin.  These oils are absorbed directly into the blood stream.  Each oil has unique properties and benefits.  They heal not only the body, but they also effect mood. Aromatherapy can be added to any massage service that uses oil (ie. not used with Thai Massage)

Traditional Thai MassageThai massage is a powerful method of healing that combines deep compressions, acupressure, and passive yoga stretching to restore total balance to the body. This is the only treatment in which the client remains fully clothed, in easily stretchable clothing like what you would wear to the gym or to do yoga. The treatment takes place on a Thai massage mat on the floor, and I massage the client using a lot of compression and acupressure points, as well as move your body through many very specific stretches. By the end of the treatment you will feel deeply relaxed and transformed and your body will begin to open up to moving more fluidly.
